On Monday, August 8, 2025, the Agrifun was officially held as a unique and interactive program that offers participants an engaging exploration of East Kalimantan’s agricultural heritage and cultural traditions. The event kicks off with an opening session where facilitators warmly welcome attendees and introduce the day’s activities, highlighting the significance of agriculture in the region. From there, the adventure begins with a delightful introduction to East Kalimantan’s traditional foods, such as Amparan Tatak (a banana-based dish), along with tropical fruits like cempedak, jackfruit, dragonfruit, and peanut. Participants not only get to taste these local delicacies but also learn about their nutritional benefits and cultural importance.
Next, the program delves into the fascinating Marosok tradition, a unique cattle-trading practice originally from West Sumatra but also found in parts of Kalimantan. This silent handshake negotiation method is demonstrated, allowing visitors to witness and even try this age-old technique themselves. Following this cultural immersion, the group heads to a cow shed, where farmers explain the basics of cattle rearing, from feeding practices to sustainable livestock management. Participants can interact with the cows, gaining a hands-on understanding of their role in local agriculture.

The journey continues with a visit to a rice field, where attendees experience the traditional method of planting paddy. Guided by local farmers, they learn how to prepare seedlings, plant them properly, and appreciate the labor-intensive process behind rice cultivation. After this enriching session, the group gathers at a gazebo for fun and educational games designed to reinforce the day’s lessons while fostering teamwork and laughter.
AgriFun is more than just an educational tour—it’s a memorable experience that connects people with East Kalimantan’s farming traditions, culinary heritage, and sustainable practices.
