Closing Ceremony of Borneo Youth Leadership Camp 2023

It’s the last day of Borneo Youth Leadership Camp 2023, where the participants gather in the Theater Room of the Masjaya Building, not far from the dormitory. The closing ceremony started with remarks from Program Coordinator, Mrs. Dr. RR. Dirgarini Julia Nurlianti S., and introduce the participants to the people behind this program.

Continued with participant’s impressions about this year of Borneo Youth Leadership Camp, represented by Hussain, and Rasyidah.

There is also symbolics certificate awarding that is represented by one person based on their countries, Amal for representing Brunei Darussalam, Ain for representing Malaysia, Tashfeen for representing Pakistan, Hussain for representing Afghanistan, Shubby for representing Tanzania, Muffin for representing Indonesia, and Ploy for representing Thailand.

Coming up with the Best Participant announcement, which was received by Yelilan as the best participant due to his excitement, curiosity, and talkativeness among the programs. Among their speech and receiving awards, there is also video viewing from each group, to rewind the programs and to compete which group should receive awards as Best Group Video.

There is also a speech from the Head of International Office Universitas Mulawarman, Mr. Sulistyo Prabowo, S.T.P, MP., M.P.H, Ph.D.

That continued with Live Votes of two categories, the first one is Most Favorite Buddy, which resulted in draws between Rivai and Repaldi scores, both of them receiving 9 votes from the participants. So two of them received the awards. The second votes category is Friendliest Participant, which results, Bas, as the highest voted as the Friendliest Participant.

There are also awards for Berau Group as the Best Group Video, and Kutai Group as the Best Group Chant.

Among the awarding of the Bestest, there are several performances both from the participants and the buddies. The first performance came from Brunei Darussalam participants, who were represented by Afiq, Amir, Iqin, and Maahee. They’re doing Tilawah —recitation of holy verses of the Qur’an—, telling the translation, reading hadith and it’s lesson. The second performance comes from the buddies represented by Intan, Zaky, Rara, and Fatima, they’re using suits and doing Maumere’s dance at first and invite all of the audience to dance with them, but in the middle, they act like there is something wrong with the songs, turns out the dance is changing to the modern dance. And the last performance came from Indonesian participants, which were represented by Wahyu, Eski, and Bagas. They did some mixed performances, Wahyu and Eski did some poetry-musicalization and continued with Bagas dancing after that. 

The closing ceremony ended with tears cause the videos presented by Buddies are played resulting melancholy situation due to the farewell of Borneo Youth Leadership Camp 2023.
